The 1st performance was a happy and fulfilling reality
It has been a while since two great friends decided to get together and expand new horizons by creating new sounds with wich they could achieve a higher state of fulfillment. The first songs where just mere creative constructions for themselves, then friends came along and started noticing the good and complex work of 2KoAN. - U should let ur work get knowned. U should get ur bums off the chairs and start "moving"! - they said. This was when 2KoAN thought of themselves as a real organized project with good perspectives and ambitions. The purpose was no longer only to expand their creative and musical minds, but to share their music and thoughts with others. Of course, as everything in life, there's no top without a start. The opportunity came and they took it - this was "COMA", a musical competition. So, on the 4th of April in "Olaria" bar 2KoAN performed their first live act. Many friends came to share this moment with them. Osvaldo, Fobs, Carreira, Luís, André, Tiago, Vasco, Madeirense, Beja, me...and many more. At about 23:00 we arrived at the bar. The mood and ambience was all there. A very nice decoration, nice lights, many people...We all asked to drink for something and whished 2KoAN the very best luck. The expectations where big and we all were very anxious and happy. 2KoAN was the first band to act. As soon as the host presented them they started playing ElectroJazz. Rodrigo controling the song on Reason and André playing the "jambe" (african drum lol). Everybody was moving their feet at the sound of the music, and their faces drawing satisfied smiles. "Time what a tricky little fucker" ! Clap, clap, many claps. The next song was We Exist. Rodrigo once more on Reason with his " Chill out and relax" mood and André playing the electric guitar, letting himself into another world, while feeling the vibrations produced by his fingers on the steel chords. 360º in the desert was the third song. Reason was playing along, Rodrigo in the semi acoustic guitar and André in the electric guitar. The sensation was striking! Pyramid Song was next. Rodrigo took charge of Reason and André sang. The relaxing, melancholic, deep vibrations of this song got into everybody's minds while André closed his eyes and let his body movements get conducted by the music and Rodrigo felt and controled every sound, "improvising, theorising", letting the audience into a magic and vibrational world. "Is that a Tom Yorke's voice sample? No, no, it's not a sample, it's for real !" ;P The last song was "Fluid Circuit". As a song that only requires Reason controling (for now ), Rodrigo went next to his friends with a pleased smile and the "I'm happy with our performance" look and André was all alone on stage. What a great finale! As it's name, we were all transformed into a fluid essence and went into another paralel reality, presenced "third degree encounters"and saw strange colours and substances. - Good night everybody and thank you for beeing here! - Rodrigo said. Everybody loved their performance. Although it was their first, they transmited very good vibes and offered the audience a real good relaxing atmosphere. We all congratulated them. They were our sons, and we the proud parents, seeing our seeds growing roots in the world. Two more bands played - Caim and Kronos. Time passed by, while we talked, laughed, drinked, smoked ...The winner was about to be announced. André bitting his nails and Rodrigo with an apprehensive face. Me - shaking lol! The rest of the guys smiling. - "And the winner is... chat...chat...chat...oh who will that be?...chat....chat....laugh...the winners are Kronos!!!" Kronos where a four element band with a sort of industrial, gothic sound. An innovator genre in Portugal, with nice vocal effects, within the likes of a specific audience or for those with more "open minds". We all wanted for 2KoAN to win. But, as they said - just the fact of beeing here, do our first performance, and have all our friends gathered is a rewarding experience. As they said - a rewarding experience. That summarizes this event. We were all pleased, relieved and happy. 2KoAN have a long and fulfilling path ahead of them. This moment was their first open door. All they have to do now is work, take opportunities, be creative and keep up their good, chilling moods and an open mind .
